Affan Bajwa
Affan is an ardent advocate and cares deeply about achieving justice for his clients. He has a keen interest in cases involving the Charter of Rights and Freedoms and cases involving the public interest. Whether it is in the courtroom or at the negotiation table, Affan zealously defends his client’s rights and will only pursue a solution that his clients agree with. Whenever Affan is dealing with a difficult case, he remains calm and moves forward until a favorable result is achieved for his clients.
Before practicing law, Affan worked with many non-profit organizations that were committed to social justice. During these experiences, Affan developed a strong passion for fighting against injustice and helping marginalized individuals in their times of need. As a settler on this land and a child of immigrants, Affan’s overarching goals are to practice law through a social justice lens, pursue justice and be an ally for his clients in and out of the courtroom.
Affan is a member of the Association of Legal Aid Lawyers, the Criminal Defence Advocacy Society, the Junior Immigration and Refugee Lawyers Network and the Canadian Bar Association. Outside of the law, Affan enjoys volunteering with local food banks or non-profits, hiking, reading and playing basketball.
